Call for Proposals for the 2016 New England HEUG

Filed in Featured, General by on April 19, 2016

On August 8-9, 2016, the 3rd Annual New England HEUG Regional User Group Conference will be held in Hyannis, Massachusetts.  The conference is co-chaired by two staff members at University Information Technology Services (UITS) in the UMass Office of the President, Pam Kenyon and Mary Gagliastro.

HEUG, which is short for the Higher Education User Group, “is an international organization consisting of Higher Education institutions that use application software from the Oracle Corporation” (About the Higher Education User Group, HEUG Website).  The New England HEUG (NEWHEUG) provides New England higher education institutions with a way in which to interact locally about Oracle applications and technology.  Members include higher education institutions from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  While the group convenes once a year, they also interact through an online community.

As the conference nears, the co-chairs and conference committee (which includes staff from Harvard, Rhode Island College, Stony Brook University, Tufts, UMass Amherst, and Williams) are putting out a call for session proposals.

The committee is interested in sessions that showcase the work that colleagues have done, their experiences (both positive and maybe not so positive), new tools, new ideas and new approaches to their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.  The conference covers all aspects of PeopleSoft ERP, including Human Resources, Financials and Campus Solutions as well as Technical and General Interest/Reporting sessions and deep-dive workshops. In addition, third party tools that are in use to expand and supplement PeopleSoft are a major component of the conference.

Those interested in presenting, can visit the Speaker Information page for presenter policies, the proposal review schedule, submission tips, and to complete the submission process.  All submissions are due by May 13, 2016.

Registration for the NEWHEUG conference will open on May 30, 2016.  The early bird rate and all other registration rates are already posted to the Registration page for reference.  There is also a pre-conference workshops add-on that may be of interest to conference attendees.
